After two nights of non-stop car repairs, the touring is ready!

Took the control arms off yesterday, put in new balljoints and rear bushes at work. A lad at work pressed them in for me for nothing!

Took the brake pipe off yesterday, took it into work and made one up from copper pipe, again free! :woohoo:

Tonight, re-fitted the control arms, dropped the exhaust, removed the manifold, re-fitted the flattened manifold with new gaskets (thanks again Reedy!) and secured the exhaust.
Put on the new brake pipe, and bled the brakes.

Took car for drive, and it's sweet as a nut.

Taking it into work tomorrow to re-MoT it, and it will pass this time!! :D

Ready for Gaydon, albeit without splitties. :(

:D :D :D :D   :D :D

Massive thanks, once again to Andrew (demlot) for all his help.

Definately owe him a pint or five. :)

I'm gonna give it a good wash and polish before the weekend.

Also, flush the engine and change the oil etc.

Would like to adjust the tappets to make it super quiet!

Then, cambelt, water pump, and thermostat!

Phew.............

The lollipop bushes were put in the wrong way, so it failed the re-test. Fu**ing pissed off with it now.

Gotta do it lunchtime tomorrow now.

She's sitting on four 14" steelies with BMW wheel trims (thanks Bharat) for now too, cos the tread was a bit low on the BBSs.

After these bushes are swapped round, at least it will pass. All the other repairs were good.

No mate,

Wanted to fit them the same day, so got normals, cos BMW didn't have M3 ones. Looking back I could have just waited and ordered M3 ones.

Least it's all sound bar the bushes.     :)

Stayed after work, used a ramp and got it sorted within an hour.

It's amazing how much quicker/easier it is to fix stuff with a ramp and proper tools!

Got the golden ticket (MoT) now, so I'm chuffed!

Do you have a black bonnet? I have seen carbon fibre bonnets and always wondered what mine might look like with a black bonnet.

Do you have any pictures

My starter motor is on the blink.

Either that or the alternator.

:x

I have spares of each, but no time!

Least we are insured and MoT'd at last, just need to tax it next week. Post Office is shut now.

3rd gear drifting last night in the wet, love it!

I'll check the alternator when I get home.

Cheers Andy.
