The price of lead has gone up and the cost, legalities and complexities of recycling the bastards is more than it was just 6 months ago, car battery prices have been rising steadily for 12 months now.
All those people posting what they paid months ago are kidding themselves if they think the prices are the same now, christ I just SOLD 3 dead (dead as a door nail) batteries for £8 each, though again they were the lead type so have some scrap value too.
As with all things its also very much a case of you get what you pay for, £99 will buy you a maintenence free, high cranking voltage, 3 year no quibble garaunteed battery at any decent motorfactors, if you want to scrimp and save you can, but you won't get anything as good.
I have often found the dealers quite decent for battery prices even when compared to specialist auto battery shops and independant motor factors.
My halfrauds battery was replaced at 30 months old FOC even though I let the car stand for a couple weeks as the battery would not re-charge, that made me a happy bunny especially as the price of the same battery had jumped £35. Glad I kept the reciept now.

well i got one from euro car parts in the end, couldnt be asked to start phoning around, doing more research into all the amps, crank start etc etc, if i did i would have been there all day, so i just went and bought a 55 amp one, i think it was. it cost me £40, might be a shitty cheap one, but at the moment dont care, i need to get my car sorted, cant be asked to jump start it everytime i need to open the window, start to test things out etc etc.
Should last me sometime, hopefully...

Is that from a shop or internet, but too late now, got one
i was going to that, but forced myself not to, as i got a bad habit of doing toooo much research into something and that would have taken me some time...

An 096 (generic part number) is the biggest battery you can fit on an E30 which has the battery under the bonnet.
