The grease method is what i used....
Fill the voide behind the bearing with grease and using a close fitting drift (i used M12 rod padded out with duct tape and covered with the finger of a lightweight rubber glove) insert and whack it with a hammer, it probably wont come all the way out in one, I had to re-pack it and go again to get it all the way out.
BTW i used copper grease as it was all i had "in stock" and it did look a bit strange
willnz's method will deffinatly be cleaner and possibly quicker, mine was a "what can i do with what i have lying about"

hi Willnz, so the bearing is being pushed out , by the bolt end pushing againt crank , and not being pulled off by using spacers big enough to put bolt through so spacers sit on the outside of the hole the bearing goes into is this correct, is it a 8 mm metal plug i need , or what size do you ussually use.
thanks for your help
thanks for your help
Thanks Willnz ,
sorted used a long M6 bolt a bit small had to hold the body to stop it turning with the bolt, came out very easy , killed the rawbolt though, will try to use large diameter and grind down to fit as you have done ,thanks again, auto box now connected to engine on and ready to go in to car, thanks again

If you substitute the rawlbolt bolt with a longer length (350mm) of 12mm threadad bar and use anything with a bit of weight with a clearance hole in it to slide on the bar then put a nut on the end of the threaded bar hay presto....
home made slide hammer......
bearing out in seconds
