I have rattles, and squeaks too! I just took a lot of stuff apart, including taking off the door trims, and I couldn't really find anything that would cause a rattle. I have it back together now and it still rattles
. Not sure exactly where, I need a passenger to tell me while I drive. I think quite a few come from the dashboard.

I was removed the door trim, but find that the rattle comes from the window railing. There is a protective plastic layer that seals it. If i remove that thin layer can i just put it back again? cos it looks like once it's removed it doesn't go back on again... Dealers ?

Same old touring woes, all manner of rattles from the back, just turn the stereo up. Will get a keen eared friend to sit back there at some point and locate them. Major wind noise from my door but that just needs a new seal/bit of draught excluder.

On my old tourer i resorted to sitting in the boot being driven around
In the end it turned out to be the striker on the tailgate, quick twizzle with a spanner cured it but i had to hit the thing with a hammer almost to get it to open

There is NO nucleus.

Might that be linked to my boot being a bitch to shut? There definitely seems to be more than one source of rattle, possibly the side pods.

Do you mean the big sheet of plastic that covers almost the whole door underneath the door trim? If you peel it off carefully you should be able to put it back on, otherwise you just need to get a sheet of similar plastic and cut it to the same pattern. It isn't too difficult, I just did it on my car. That plastic is only there to stop water getting on the door trim from inside the door I think.fannyj wrote:I was removed the door trim, but find that the rattle comes from the window railing. I'm not sure what other plastic there is?
