Ant,

You may want to re-route the O2 sensor wiring. Having a millivolt signal cable tied to the HT leads is probably not ideal

Slipery when wet folks !

had a few brown moments today, must admit I have turned the boost down until it hopefully dries out.

Fuel consumption wise................ yep, she likes the go juice Ԛ£36 to 106 miles , not soo bad as I have been tweaking the car whilst stationary most of the weekend attempting to improve the idle quality- I ahve failed so far

Len, will look out those 02 for ya tomoz m8. Too much to do today.

Well done! I'm looking forward to some hp and maybe acceleration figures. Should be quick.

That's only a tiny bit worse than my non turbo 323i. Depends how much you paid for the petrol per litre but it is about 23L/100km and mine gets about 22L/100km.

Bit bored today so a mini update on this.

Long term the car has been 100% reliable, had to tighten the manifold nuts a few times but thats a familiar issue with the M20

Fuel consumption is no better  in traffic the car is fine, docile as stock with just a hint of a "bobble" if you idle for 10+ minutes, its a heat soak issue I think , damn that intake manifold gets kin hot too !

Boost is still set very low, had a lot of issues with laptops so tuning has been on hold until now, finally managed to get the laptop to run( POS P1MMX thing) by basically porting the entire contents of my desktop onto CDR and playing with the settings, who said XP and win98 are compatable ??? I'd like to stuff their head into a jar

Today is a real event, the Innovate Wideband 02 is finally fitted and setup !!! gonna take a few short drives to see whats what and now I get realtime AFR displayed I can tweak til I'm out of fuel or skill, whichever comes first.

I've decided that assuming I'm rich under boost( should be mega rich) I will up the min boost from its current 5.5 to 8 ish and tune for that, no sense tuning for its current level as its simply not enough winkeye

Update later on this, hopefully good news

Sweet news Ant and Mark(as i know its your wideband Mark) Sounds like you'll be dumping even more once you have more boost, more boost=more gearchanges=woooosh chirp.

Good news toby as well, make sure you get the model of the volvo and maybe even the chassis number then you can get the right turbo to manifold gasket off the dealer(not that that'll be the first thing you want to worry about)

MOT in a week and a half :?

Sounds like good news alround Ant!

Have you got one of those G-Tech things that can give an indication on power?

Be interested to see what people are getting.

I know I've asked this before, but can't remember where the answer is  What plugs are you running? Gotta sort these out at the weekend :)

Cheers!

So far, based on 2640lbs (1200kgs) I'm getting 225bhp at the rear wheels.

got a turbo guys 8)

not a permanent solution, the tub might be ok, there's a bit of lateral shaft play though, but will be great for mocking up and i'll be able to use the manifold flange i think. also got a big big downpipe with a couple of nice bends in it which should be a lot of use to cut up, all oil/water pipes and unions, and a load of charge pipes and also a separate bypass valve thing between comp inlet and outlet, what that is i don't know. not IDd the tub yet but it's a Garret T3 i guess, quite big. Ԛ£20 the lot, not too bad.

Sweet Toby, your scrappy sounds super generous, all that stuff for Ԛ£20, you could flog it on ebay for much more.

No going back now, it does look like a t3 flange to me, but I find it difficult to tell the difference between t3 and t25(used on rover's someone reliable informed me on here)

I bet you are buzzing in anticipation, i'll keep my eyes and ears out for anything else that might be of interest to you(FMU, big injectors, etc)

Gotta go misses is on my back for spending to much time on here and not enough with her.

Once again

that sounds familiar :(

it's a TB03, thanks to Ant for staying up half the night trawling through volvo forums, yuk!

lucky because similar later cars used a smaller turbo. and also what thought was too much lsteral play on the shaft turns out might be fine and within tolerance

pretty happy!
