knocking when I turn the wheel

Hey Guys need some help with my 3.20i it seems to make a knocking noise every time I turn the wheel, almost exactly lick a cv joint.

Only prob is, as I understand it bmw's shouldnt have cv joints.

The noise seems to be coming from the front only when I turn to the right

worn coupling rubber?
is it PAS?

then yes I have pas, do you think the pump is going?

It made a really hectic grating noise this morning when I gave it full lock pulling out of my drive way this morning

Have you checked the power steering oil level? its in a brown container near the intake pipe.

BMW's do have CV's, but at the back.

Sounds like a steering problem! :roll:
