Hi guys, im Chris from Malaysia, currently doing a NV M50B25 swap into a 1990 E30. I have few questions regarding the engine
1) I read somewhere that i can advance the intake cam timing cam by 5 degrees which will give a better low end & mid end performance and the downside of it is that i will lose lots of top end power? Is this true? Any first hand experience?
2) my engine came from a 1994 Japanese spec NV m50b25, someone told me that it is not 191 hp but 170hp? I've checked almost everywhere and couldn't find an answer for it.
3) Can i use an E36 radiator only without having the e30 overflow tank as im giving it away to a friend? (my e30 radiator is knackered btw).
4) Can i use an electric fan which have a thickness of 2.3" behind the radiator? Will it clear?
Thx you so much in advance
Chris

I advanced my inlet by 5° on my old NV M50 and it went a hell of a lot better, all at the top end, only downside was it idled like a pig
E36 rad = yes
Electric fan = fit it to the front side of the rad

any other things that i can tweak in order to squeeze more power in it other than forced induction?
When you say front side of the rad, is it facing the engine or away from the engine? i presume the electric fan is a puller type?
thank you for the reply
