My 325i touring always seems to run around 1/3 of the way up the temperature dial, whereas my old saloon used to run around 1/2 way, basically in the middle.

My touring seems to run cold unless I hit traffic, then give it 10 minutes and its up to 2/3 of the way and if I don't put the blowers on, it will go up to 3/4?

I've changed the thermostat but no diffence.

Anyone else had this???

Cheers

K

I concur on that diagnosis Doctor.
Try getting the car hot then sticking a rolled up magazine in the fan. If it stops the viscous clutch in knackered.

To check the whiskas coupling just stick your fingers in the fan blades with the engine running at full temp. If it cuts your fingers off it's working fine.

sorry I'm having a mad 1/2 hour before I go to work. :bolt:
