Expand BBS RS width

Well, it's a mate that wants to do 9"s on the back of his Sport and 8"s on the front as it's currently on et25 7"s
I reckon 9 is too wide really as I'm not a huge fan of the really stretched look but he's stubborn fecker!
Although in saying that... it will have the guts of 330bhp so a wide foot-print may not be a bad idea, lol.

M42 rightness above 6500rpm, nobody can hear you scream
Ah, ET25 should work nicely with 8s so with a little bit of work... car is only on Eibach springs anyway as want it to handle well and be useable on county lanes.

hi and thanks for all info'. My current et is 25 but I think it's not concern because it's 3 piece rim which mean it is really about how many space from current rim spec to fender edge. Or if anyone has the 7" bbs rim et 25 on your e30, please help me ruler from the rim edge to rear fender. That may be the rough additional space I can extend the outer lip. Thanks in advance

Question to Mr. Rav,
What are the tyre set for those rims. I also saw your car and the E30 coupe with the BBS rim in BMW Mag'. Both cars are very beautiful. Do you have any contact e-mail address of the BBS e30 owner. I would like to share information in detail with him such as How much he has loaded the car down, and whether or not there is any rubbing problem from the rim size.
Thanks for your help in advance,
N.

looking for a 325i cab for a project. why?
Hi, E30 GAV
May I get more information from you as follows;
1. For both front and rear wheel, have you changed only outer lip as of my case or you changed both Inner lip and outer lip because if you change the inner then the et will be concern.
2. You mentioned that there was rub problem on the rear and you had your arches rolled. Did you just roll the arches or pull the flare out to accomodate the wider rim because I don't want to halm the existing fender shape, but having the arches rolled a bit is still OK to me.
3. Again, what tyre size you are using?
Lastly, very nice car you have, mate.
Thanks for your advise

You can stop the rubbing by putting bumpstops on the rear shocks, this stops them from "Bottoming" out and causing tyre damage, also as Gav said, roll the arches to get rid of the problem too.
Gav, are yours really 8.5j at the front?, as the set i'm selling is 8j fronts and 9 rears.
And Gav, you haven't told him how much the cars been dropped by.

Was trying to work out what dish we needed to widen my mates (Da4x4turbo) 16"s last night and it seems he has a 1.5" dish on 7Js with ET38 I think...
So that would mean we have a 5.5" barrel so would need 2.5" and 3.5" dishes to bring them out to 8s and 9s.
Car is lowered on 40-35mm eibachs so clearance shouldn't be too bad I suppose with using something like 225/40s

They should be 6" iirc plus the lip??
You're sure its 1 1/2 inch lip Dave???
Not teaching you how to suck eggs, but measure the barrel from the top of the bolt side to the inside of the bottom lip and it'll give you the barrel size and go from the mate.

Yeah, 5.5 seems very narrow but it does seem like there'a 1.5" lip and he's sure they are 7J...Rav335uk wrote:They should be 6" iirc plus the lip??

If measuring the barrel was so easy, lol.
He forgot to before he put tyres on them you see.

Well it should stat by the centre bolt holes what size it is, if it hasn't already been taken apart and altered in size.
Or take the tyres off again.
