Good polish/wax for a gold car

My old man has a merc in a sort of metalic gold, I refer to it as hearing aid beige which he loves.

Not sure what the previous owner did, but he does little more than chuck a soapy bucket of water over it. I did buy him a Meguires wash and polish kit along with a lambswool mit as opposed to the sponge he used to use.

He wants to get the paintwort looking good so I offerd to help him. I was thinking of washing it with Meguiars Shampoo Plus then give it a clay.

I can give it a polish with the Meguiars products I have, but fancy using some Dodo Juice, purely because I have never used it before and fancy trying it out, but which one to go with?

If I have the time I will clean the windows inside, rainX the front screen, treat the tyres with Megs tire gloss and do the wheels with Chemical Guys Wheel Guard.

Its a big car but luckly the roof is glass so cuts down on the claying. I did my mums Micra recently and used a complete clay bar as it had obviouly never been done before.

personally i'd leave it, gold is the only colour that seems to match common or garden road dirt so only needs cleaning once a year

I have only tried the born slippy lube so far so this is not much use to you, however, I just wanted to say that the lube smells GORGEOUS!

Never before have I asked anyone to sniff my lube ... it is not something I ever thought I would randomly drop into conversation LOL

He had already washed it before I arrived. The colour of the water in the bucket and the grit that was in it

His excuse was he had already done the car and was just cleaning the wheels. I didn't have a lot of time but tought him how to use a clay bar, clayed the boot and bonnet, polished and waxed them, the difference was amazing. Also cleaned all the glass that had never been done before, muck on the cloth was unreal.

Trip to Halfords and he has a Megs clay kit, proper microfiber drying cloth (very impressed with mine and not a leather like he is used to useing), and a few microfiber cloths. I know I could have got it cheaper on line but it was 3 for 2 on cleaning products so I don't think he lost much.

He is planning to clay the rest of the car one side at a time, polish and wax them.
