Try www.confused.com, they will get quotes from lots of different insurance companies for you (only have to put your details in once). Hope that helps you.

I found Adrian Flux to be very good on price. It costs less to insure My "highly" moddified 328i than it does to insure my "standard" 325i with another insurance company lol

Girlfriend tried confused.com and was well impressed

I've just renewed my insurance, ended up going with Adrian Flux who were the cheapest (just). Got TPFT with breakdown cover and protected no claims for just shy of Ԛ£400. I'm 28.

They wouldn't entertain classic insurance, got nothing to do with age, more to do with whether its a genuine classic.......and they don't think a Touring is a future classic. May have a different view of a Motorsport or something.

Jeepers! That's a pretty comprehensive list!! Nice one! I'll have to save that somewhere for when our Scenic is up for renewal, but i've found that most companies aren't interested if you've modified your car at all.

Sorry to divert this thread for a bit, but how have those of you with modified cars got on with insurance? I've been with Tescos for the past few years with my previous mod-list declared, but i dont think they'll go as far as i've gone now. They wanted an extra Ԛ£100 a year or something just because i changed my BBS to Hartge alloys, so i think they're taking the p!ss a bit now. Everyone talks about Adrian Flux, but i found them awkward to deal with last time i used them with a modified Mini. I'll give them another call just to compare though.

I lost my licience about a year ago, phoned an insurance broker and they put me through to a company called Hiperformance(Carinthian), everyone else wanted to charge between Ԛ£2000-Ԛ£3000 for a 318i 4 door. These people charged me Ԛ£1100 with all the mods, alloys, suspension etc....., so i thought that to be pretty good after a 6 mth ban and they still let me have a 1 years no claims from before the ban.

rightey o il try the thread

originally the plan was to kepe my golf, take the engine out the IS an do it up at college. but the golf died and the IS became my only car to use so taking the engine out was a no go, hence i needed a new engine for college

i thought that i could get another IS engine and do it up then drop it in at the end of the year, but people have converted me to m20 rightness plus johns one is 90 quid and local hence why i will hopefully have m20 power in a year
