THANKS - no racing, just track day fun !!

no track day fun at moment due to towcar and trailer being knackered - mishap on M1 last week involving the word "jack-knife" ouch :x

was going to go to bedford on 26th aug but went to book it last night and it is full !!!

so hope fully out to play in sept (sept 3rd at croft)

cheers

Really nice looking car mate, first time i've seen an M20 in red and it looks lush! 8)

If you fancy a nice open airfield track where you've no danger of hitting anything then try one at Elvington, just outside York, so less diatance than Croft.

A company called Javelin run days there, usually Saturdays, think it's about Ԛ£90 for the day, open pit lane all day and it is never too busy out on the track, but still a professionally run day.

i know javelin very well - i am from lincoln and they are from nearby. i used to go to Binbrook airfiled with javelin and also to cadwell. Unfortunately the landowner at binbrook wokred out that he could get loads of dosh for used tarmac so he dug it up !!!.

I must admit i have heard bad things about elvington - the surface apparantley eats tyres, especailly in heavier saloon cars . my other car is seven and is not too bad on tyres. Airfield days dont really "float my boat" i am afraid - i can get a full cadwell day with motorsport vision in november for only Ԛ£115 so why pay Ԛ£90 at elvington and knacker the tyres !!!!

many thanks for the info - i will still use javelin for cadwell, unfortunately they are only doing one more day there this year.

yeah I take your point about tyres at Elvington.

There was a geezer there with a mini with an Integra type R engine and box in it a few months back, maan that thing absolutely flew, but he got through about 6 sets of front tyres on the day!

It did monster past Skylines and the like on the straights!

Some great pics, it really looks the business. I think you need to go for a colour where you will get noticed though!! 8)

My plan for next year is to come over and do some of the tracks in the north west (straight off the IoM ferry). I know what you mean about the tyres and airfields from my home track. It now has some new tarmack on 1/3 of the course and it's so much better and less harsh on the tyres.

I've put a post on tyres to get some feedback but perhaps I should of put down that it's on an old airfield..?

What choice of black round things do you go for on the 'Green meanie'?

just been looking at those pics of the engine bay again, I am defo going to do my spare cam cover red now. Already done it in black but that red is different (for E30's it would seem anyway). Think it would look good contrasting against the lachs silver too

Plus I get to use my new dremel and polish up the fins on the cover all nice :P
