remade my exhaust system yesterday and have added a middle reinator box to try and damp down some of the raspiness the old system has but iam not sure what to pack it with?

Could i use rock wool, loft insulation stuff or would this set on fire? what should i use and where can i get it from. :D

I used this (or something very similar). eBay listing
It's done 16k miles in just over a year and still as quiet as the day I fitted it. :D
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

You can get bags of silencer wadding from Car Builder Solutions.

Or get onto EastCoastFibreglass and buy a load of glass rovings and stuff them in.

It's all E-glass at the end of the day.

Matt, this may be of some help to you. What you are describing though, if it is filled with a sound deadening material, is an acoustic damper, and not a resonator. It should, however, do what you want it to. Google something along the lines of "glass pack cherry bombs" for more info.
