m50 b20 engine mods/increases etc

does anyone know if anything can be done cheaply to increase the power on the m50 320i single vanos engine???
just got myself an e36 320 and wondering what can be done ,other than the obvious fit b25/b28 engine


can i fit a b25 throttle body,inlet manifold etc things like this will they give any increase??

any thoughts or lnowledge/experiences appreciated

Do you mean an E36 Daz? I only know of one E30 M50 B20 and that was an accident!

Guess you could fit the M50 B25 mainfold, they are different part no's but not sure how much bigger the ports are. A good Remap maybe?

old habits my fingers auto type e30
just bought an e36 as a daily hack for a bit

no e30 at the moment so gonna be using this till i find a suitable e30 then will prob m50 b28 that as a project

in the meantime just wanna keep it simple and see how i can improve the e36 for now

Agreed, its really not worth spending on. 84mm bores are the way forward

hmm tried and tested that method lol

oh well so its gonna be a dullish daily cruiser then for now anyway

ill be back in an e30 but not until i find the right shell and then engine transplant

There is absolutley nothing you can do with an M50 2 litre. The 325i manifold will fit but the ports are so much bigger that the incoming charge will hit the step down top the smaller ports and lose power. The manifolds are O ringed and plastic so fitting a 325i TB isn't an option.
The only thing that can be done is to get it remapped. The £250 that costs will buy a 2.5..........
