Finally got round to taking some pics, picked this up for £200 with a full years mot.

Have had to do quite a bit of work on it though inc camshaft and all the rest that seems to go on the M40s.

Trust me, you haven't seen the condition of the seats lol, the drivers seat looks like it's been in a fight with a cheese grater!

The covers came with the car, soon as i have the £££ new seats are going in :D

Fair play but you do realise that when people see you in the car with those seat covers they will think that you actually think they look cool.

If you insist on keeping them on I would put a temporary sign in the window saying something like "I know these seat covers looks worse than john major with a clitoris, new seats on way soon"

Looks like a bit of a bargain! And not a bad looking more door!

BTW just stick some tape on the seat, it will look much better than those seat covers! :D

The lip on both rear wheel arches has rust, but not too bad, there is also some rust on the rear valence.

I will be replacing one of the rear arches as it is dented, I've patched up the valence with kurust, P38 and some paint. I will give the whole underneath a coat of hammerite & waxoyl before the winter though.

Below is what i've done to the car since buying it:

Timing Belt
Camshaft
Rocker Arms
Tappets
Rotor arm
dizzy cap
spark plugs
blue temp sender
Viscous fan coupling
Replaced batterys in the SI Board
Inlet manifold gaskets
Replaced all rubber fuel lines

Lots more to do yet before i start making her look better, but the engine is now absolutely sweet as a nut, no top end ticking noise at all, which seems to be an achievement on an M40 :D

Yep, definatly a rolling project, it's my only car.

Has 130000 on the clock at the moment, but i cover a fair bit of mileage so thats going to go up quickly.

Gonna service the slush box on it next as i need to keep everything reliable, i don't think it's been done in a long time by the looks of things :?

Nope, full instructions in the haynes manual, you bleed it by disconnecting the filler tube, take the bottom off and theres a filter inside that needs changing :)

Autobox is smooth at the mo, but i never trust the things :?
