rubber spoiler paint removal

ive just bought an alpina rear spoiler for my project car, it is the one similar to a tech 1 spoiler, it has been (badly) painted red and i want to remove the paint without damaging the spoiler, what can be used to remove the paint from the rubber/foam. it looks to be aerosol paint, any help much appreciated

Bodger, i,m doing exactly the same with Zender kit atm.
Just using sandpaper, seems to be working ok.

Yes it does!
I'd say the only way to get it back to rubber would be successively finer grades of abrasive paper. Even then, you may have to get it sprayed satin (or matt) black to get it looking decent.

No there isn't and yes it is - I've done it twice now.
If you don't do it by hand, you'll damage the rubber.

Not to mention bloody messy

Not to bad for me though, as it,s being resprayed the same
colour, so just a case of removing the old paint.

you can actually get a paint stripper designed to use on plastics... Ide give normal paint stripper ago but only leave it on for a minute before hosing it off..
