Hmm, temptings but I can't be sure my car will be finished by then. The more I think about the jobs remaining, the less confident I am.

Ballacks! Are you about this coming Friday? Debating whether to do a half day at hullavington. If you are keen, perhaps half a day would be a good idea? They have a handling section(free with trackday) which would be good fun with something RWD...

Jon when is Hullavington? (And where, sounds like somewhere Swindon direction?) I like the idea of having a seperate space just for ars!ng about in and sliding about a bit without being black flagged.
For sale - E30 320i racer project - sold.

"Hullavington is very well situated being only 2 miles off J17 of the M4 near Chippenham in Wiltshire."
Next Fri (31st). Very much doubt I'll be able to get next Fri off at this notice - the fact that I'm still at work now is probably sufficient to explain how busy I am! Worth a try though... certainly tempting!

/\ As above. I haven't tried Hullavington out since we used our 200sx which must have been 2 years ago and they didn't have the 'handling' bit then. So it could be shit, it could be good? All it will be is cones and a fairly big area I would have thought.
I will know on Monday evening whether I can commit to H.

H fully booked now.
Ho hum, car still isn't producing the power I want either, so more engine management work to be done before August.
Up to 165bhp rather than 163 and I have an annoying lumpy idle thanks to the cam.
What a result.
It SHOULD be good for 180bhp if I can get everything else in sync.
Any more for Abingdon, I feel that I am flogging a dead horse though?...

Looks like all Hllavington dates for the rest of the year are Fridays, the day that is most difficult for me to sort. I work Mon to Thurs as my 3 yo is at nursery, then look after him on Fridays. Will start building up brownie points with the missus for mebbe the Sept Hullavington day.

Thanks for updating Kevin. See you at the next one hopefully.
Anymore for anymore? Colerne a week before is already booked, and Abingdon is more popular. I'd be suprised if there are any places left by next wednesday.
Come on ladies.

Nice one mate.
What car? A photo and a first name would be great so that I don't have to call you bumhole on the day!

Truly in the doghouse. Noticed that I'd be driving past Keevil to get to Hullavington, they have a day on 7th Sept. So I told the noisier half that I was thinking of a track day 7th Sept, would she mind dropping our 3yo at nursery so I could get an early start, and I was likely to be gone until late. All went a bit quiet. I remembered last night that 7th Sept is our wedding anniversary
. So I tried to pretend that I knew all along and was only joking about the track day, she said "6th Sept is our wedding anniversary you ....". I'm not Mr popular at home now, funny how women get all funny about that kind of thing

Yeah sorry, Bumhole (the name) was a hasty first thing that popped into my head moment.
The car is a bit of a turdy looking silver touring. It's been pretty much rebuilt with an m50 in it.
On a recent trip to the 'burg in it we stayed in the 'Ringhaus' where the owner guy gave me a set of Potenza track tyres with at least one track day left in them, Result!! Dont think I'm going to have the funds for a second set of rims for the day unfortunately though. If anyone knows of any shabby items for sale I am interested! Otherwise it is some turdy maxxis jobs on it. Not done any proper track days before so any advice would be much appreciated.
My name is Jody. Me and a mate 'Adam' or 'Butler' as he is more affectionately known will be there on the day driving. He is the stealthy, quiet but quick guy. I talk a good game but am actually crap! I'll put a pic up of the car, see you there.......

Well be good to meet you on the day Jody, don't worry I am crap too, and I talk a crap game!
Sadly I don't have any spare 4x100 rims, loads of Pug and 200sx fitament though...sorry!
If anyone is desperate, and I doubt it going on current interest levels, pick up the phone and get on the reserve list.

looking forward to this as long as I can get a few bits and bobs done on the car in time! Anyone know what the bed-in procedure is for ebc yellow stuff pads?

No jody, I was saying that I have lots of Pug fitament wheels, for my Pug 205, BUT they are the wrong PCD for your car, they wouldn't fit. Otherwise you could have borrowed some! Same goes for the 200sx wheels.
Henry, does it say on the box. There were two methods, one could actually be done 'at the track' as far as I remember. Not sure I bothered too much with the procedures...

not sure if it is on the box as they aren't here yet!
Don't usually carry out the manufacturers bed in procedure but thought I might try it this time to give these discs and pads a fair trial! Last time out at Abingdon I chomped through a brand new set of red stuff pads and on inspection that night one was barely off the metal! It also knackered a set of discs in the process putting deep score marks in them.
I'm rather hoping yellows may last a bit longer and note fade after 5 laps!

Just had a look on the couple of boxes I have. Nothing really that specific, so I must have got the above track method idea off their website or something.
The boxes state that there is a bedding in section on the pad(it is red and about 1mm thick) and that no hard braking should be done in the first 100 miles. But as said, the boxes are for all EBC pads(road, green, red and yellow) so take that with a pinch of salt.
You HAVE to get good fluid, otherwise, you'll think the pads are failing you and it is actually the shitty brake fluid boiling. Halfords sell some racing fluid
that is actually ok. £10 for 500ml though. We change it the night before every trackday. We have never had fade with this combination and the traction from the combined weight(of the 205) and r888s/slicks provide, must be similar to an e30 on t1rs in my simplistic mind.
Check EBC online for bedding in procedures would be my advice.

cheers buddy. Got some ate super racing blue so hopefully that should be ok, we use castrol srf at work so maybe try that another time!
I'm also trying R888 this time, interested to see the diference, also hoping I might get more than 1 track day out of them and not melt like the T1Rs do!

We'll see how much we can break. The car got a pounding last time when there were 2 drivers, this time there will three of us as my brother is coming as well. Poor little schlaag is going to be out all day long.
Weather is so variable according to different sites. I really hope it doesn't rain though, as FWD in the rain is boring.
Jody, PM me your number and i'll send you a text with mine, just in case you get lost or something. Sat Nav isn't very helpful from people I have spoken too.
Just follow the a34 and turn off when you see signs for Dalton(iirc) barracks, basically aim for these barracks and you have found the airfield.
Brian, let me know when the iS is booked for a test session.

Oh dear, I am bad and ugly.
I have just packed the pair of cars after getting back from the pub.
Never have I been so lazy when prepping a car. The other reason I would prefer it doesn't rain is that I have no real rain tyres.
But it should be good no matter what.
Cya at 8.30-9 ish.

I've entered a sprint in it at Castle Combe at the end of September. The car will still be standard, but I'm thinking of stripping it out before then. Be interesting to see how it gets on, but its with the Evo owners club and Lotus owners club, so there won't be a lot to benchmark it with. Hopefully a trackday after that before it hits the garage for stripping down and race building.Jon_Bmw wrote:

Well Were is everyone ?
With roadworks cancelled for the bank holliday I think I`m a bit early, and thaks after stopping at Micky D`s and filling up with fuel.
Loverly morning - hopefully dry in morning with some lashings of rain in the afternoon. Best of both worlds.
Looks like they are setting up a different circuit from when I was last here. Oh well another layout to learn.
Oh well see you guys soon.
cheers,
Dave.

Cool day, weather spiced it up a bit.
Had a bit of a crap morning with the corporate guys, but a wicked afternoon made it a top day.
Hope everyone enjoyed themselves, there is too little time in the day to get in the passenger seat of everyones car though.
I'm nackered and a little bit sunburnt.
Roll on the next one.
