High idle when engine is warm

People keep commenting that the my car is idleing high around 1000rpm but when cold it seems to idle normal

any suggestions ?

mine does the opposite, has never bothered me to be honest.. have you checked the usual? icv, blue temp sensor, afm etc?

its got all new hoses etc i cleaned icv and afm a while ago

not sure why its doing it :mad:

My guess would be that someone has been messing with the throttle stop screw to try and stop it cutting out in the past.
Engine conversions, Auto to manual conversions, parts, servicing etc etc... For anything e30 call 07718 901737

thats one thing ive never touched, but i know that one of the sides to the screwhead on it has been snapped off, so someones been at it

do you recon when it had all the knacerd hoses on someone has adjusted that, only thing ive adjusted was the throttle cable but even with slack in it its doing the above

it's also worth checking all the throttle cable connections/stops/etc. I had this problem a while ago although mine was idling at around 1500, when I investigated I found that the outer cable stop for the throttle cable was not seated properly so it could never fully return to it's idle position. Once back in it's place all was well.
