Car of the Month August '09

Well it's been a while... & we're now at the peak of the British Summer, although you may be forgiven for thinking otherwise. The obvious suggestion for a contest at this time of year would be convertibles, but that seems a little mean given that we're all sulking at the lack of chance to get the roof down.

So how about another type of car that primarily (but certainly not exclusively) gets used in the summer, but isn't shy of a bit of rain? It might be pretty miserable for spectators at times, but a wet race always entertains... Yup, this month we're looking for E30 race/track cars.

Simple criteria - the owner's got to be a zoner. There are far too many great cars hiding away in the Motorsport / Track Day section that most of us never see. I've a sneaky suspicion that spending time working on & driving their cars rather than polishing & taking pictures of them, could make for some excellent nominations. Feel free to put your own E30 or anyone elses up this month & tell us a bit about it too - don't be shy now!

Can I ask:

Is it the trick of the camera, or is that really fifteen feet up in the air? In the third picture it looks more like it is rally spec rather than track.

I think its the camera, because it is very low in real life, got race suspension, but your right look funny, im gonna do a full write up on car from when i first brought it with lots of pics.

One of my old E30's was destined to take part in the above races! Lost touch with the guy who bought it but I would have loved to have seen it race prepped. His name was Gavin and he came from South Wales iirc.
