i posted up here a while ago regarding my 320 auto having no reverse gear. as i've been a bit skint i've not had the cash to replace it so have been making do...
the thing is it will reverse fine after being driven for 10 miles or when the engine has warmed up.
sometimes if it hasn't been driven far enough, if you put it in reverse and rev the engine it jumps back and starts working.
i've checked the fluid and it's bright red and to the correct level and the are no leaks.
just seems strange to work when warm and not when cold. any help appreciated.
another 320i autobox problem - strange!

Hm possible broken valves, can't build the pressure when cold but when warm the box expands and the valve can let in oil again, just a guess, you need to speak with someone that knows more about this.
I had a problem that it wouldn't gear when cold, stayed in 1st gear for a long time, problem here was valves.
Could also be filthy governor, think box can stay in car while fixing it.
Does it brake on low gear when cold? What about when warm?
