BAD swirl marks on Diamond Black paint - compound job?

Hi all, I'm trying to remove swirl marks/scratches from the bootlid of my car - looks like last owner took a brillo pad to the thing! I think I need a good compound compared to what I've used?

The scratches can't be felt on fingernail.

I have detailed the car with:
wash,
claybar,
wash,
poorboys swirl remover 3.0 (applied via portercable),
sealant and ...
carnauba wax.

Car is shiny as anything, but just a couple of marks to remove.

I think I need a compound, but don't want to strip the lid back to metal! Any recommendations?

you need to get it buffed, that should dothe trick if you can not get the scratches of with Tcut, Polish, etc.........

Thanks, but is it just any generic rubbing compound I need to buff it with, or can you recommend a particular make/type?

Get some G3, mix it with tiny drop of autoglym super resin polish and use a rotary buffer.

3M Fast cut plus, work this until residue goes clear finsh off with something like 3M ultrafina, this will clear up any holograms or marring left from the compunding stage, Farecla G3 isn't bad but it's very out dated now, the abrasives don't break down and it doesn't leave a LSP ready finish as it's very aggresive, far better products available that are safer to use. You can use the 3M stuff with your PC too although a rotary does a better job of breaking down the abrasives, this is very important otherwise you will end up with holograms galore,
