Hi guys,
I'll be dropping into the UK on Thursday night to visit the British GT, F3 & FF meeting at Silverstone. I've then got some time to go see the real important sites in the UK (Demon Tweeks, Aston Musuem, Prodrive, Brands etc), but will then be jumping the pond into mainland Europe from September 23 until October 8th.
I've got all the Touristenfahren sessions of the Nurburgring Nordschleife noted in my calendar, but am looking for a local Ring rental (preferably low powered but caged, i.e. E30) that will rent to Under 25s. Cost isn't really the issue, it's more that I really want to drive the 'Ring, but almost all the Ring Rental places are for over 25s only.
I saw an article a while back about someone nearby who has a fully stripped E30 318iS as a Ring Rental. If anyone knows anything about this, or any other place that might be able to help, that would be AWESOME.
Otherwise, if there is anyone visiting the 'Ring on some of the weekends (where a whole day is open to Public), could they please let me know when and where - if I can't find a rental, I'll definitely cough up (anything up to a tenner) some fuel money for a ride with a Zoner!
Regards, Dave (djs325)

RSR speek to dale .if he can help he will
english guy knows how to drive and has tons of alfa 75s on cut slicks
http://rsrnurburg.com/index.php
the cost will be high everywhere . the problem is insurance costs ,
but on basic rental the alfas are limitless laps .
but dont stack it., what ever you do ,.
or why not buy a car here in uk then take it there and sell it on again afterwards
get the right car and the trip may cost zero for the car "rental"
if you need help i can work with you on it.
and as far as rides go .. just ask people in the car park , people just say yes ,. some rarely say no , but most will go for it,
haha or pay the ring taxi !!

worth it before you go out for the first time yourself in any case, just to get a feel for it. take a helmet though, it's polite to protect your head and lessen the risk for the driverpsychochild187 wrote:and as far as rides go .. just ask people in the car park , people just say yes ,. some rarely say no , but most will go for it,

......cough, cough who is going to insure him for the Ring. No address in the UK and going to the Ring? No thanks, rather pay the rental, even if it works out expensive.psychochild187 wrote:

MOST if not all UK insurers exclude the Ring in their policies in one way or another. I am UK resident for 9 years but not a UK national and already this is causing a lot of grief when looking fro insurance (read £££££)
Dale is the man to speak too! Or sing up on www.northloop.co.uk
and ask there (oops better do a search first before asking

I have exactly the same quote from same insurer and would like to know what your policy wording is? When I saw it first I thought "HEUREKA!" but keep reading till you come to the bit where it says "even if we have to pay in a country where we normally wouldn't pay we may come after you to get our dosh back" (not exact words but you get the drift)gareth wrote:i'm covered on my 335i, all mods declared etc for £400. with adrian flux, underwritten by equity red star and fully covered for use on the nurburgring! i have just read though my policy booklet and found no mention of excluding the usual "private toll roads" or "derestricted toll roads" that the insurers usually use as a get-out clause. i asked adrian flux to clarify that i was specifically covered for use on the nurburgring nordshleife on touristenfharten days and they wrote to me confirming that this is ok and i'm covered.
where does yours say otherwise? page number or section? you've got me worried now!

Try Frank at the Ringhaus. They did have a stripped and caged e30 325i last year IIRC. http://www.ringhaus.com/hotel_en/public/cars.php

I looked the booklet up online. Haven't bought insurance yet as car doesn't run.gareth wrote:i have just read though my policy booklet and found no mention of excluding the usual "private toll roads" or "derestricted toll roads" that the insurers usually use as a get-out clause. i asked adrian flux to clarify that i was specifically covered for use on the nurburgring nordshleife on touristenfharten days and they wrote to me confirming that this is ok and i'm covered.
