Right guys and gals

When I go to lock the doors the central locking dont work.
If I lock the pass door all the car locks so I know its not a prob with the loocking
Right back to the drivers door
You put the key in the lock and turn and it will try to pull the rod (bit ) down but then lock the drivers door only I took the door card off today opend the window and shut the door and pushed the rod bit down and all the doors locked so I looked up in to the door and turned the key and you can see it locking and trying to pull the rod down but it cant

Has any got any idea

P.s sorry to go on but I think I have coverd it all :?

Sounds like the drivers door lock cylinder is worn, their is a hard metal roller in the lock that wears the soft alloy centre section when this is worn you get a reduced lock movement for any given key movement.

You should get the doors locking after a 45 degree movement of the key and then go to deadlock after a further 45 degree movement.

Also check that the microswitch on the back of the door lock is being operated when the lock is being turned.

You can get a lock/tumbler repair kit from the stealers so you can build your own lock and keep one key, otherwise get a good lock from a scrappy, but then you will have different door and ignition keys.
