i'm fairly new to the E30 and have just bought my first one.
I quite like the look of the Alpina wheels and I was trying to work out firstly what size they are 16/17?
and i've noticed that many sellers are offering copies that look quite similar, wondered what they were like, or where I can get the real things?
Cheers
Nick

original one's are 16" and should be staggered (wider on the back)
expect to pay between £4-600 for a second hand set in reasonable condition, they can be occasionally found on here and Ebay

They also had 7j all round Alpina's. The 17" replicas are rubbish.

7J Alpina's in 16" are the more familiar one's you'll find, 8J rears are rare
17" replica's are made by BK Racing, Kopi and another company i think.
I've heard the replica's are really heavy and ruin the handling of the car

brilliant, thanks for the advice guys.
I'm not in too much of a rush to change the wheels, I quite like the cross spokes actually, so i'll hold out for the real ones maybe.

this old chestnut again.17" reps weigh 2.5 kg heavier per wheel+tyre than a 15" bbs+tyre. not a great difference . some say theyre weak and cause vibration but ive not had any problems with the sets ive had.
youll get a decent set of 17" reps with tyres for £250 or so. real alpinas are usually double that second hand.

Whats it say behind the cap, you have 20 spokes which Alpina's have too.
15" Alpinas didn't have centre caps, so i'm curious to know.

the cap was flaking so i stripped it and repainted didnt quite get a match with the colour
Yet there is a screw hole for the cap bolt so there must be some kind of cap that goes on them if not these ones
And the bolt is a hexagon key not a key

Well i'm thinking that the rep ones look good on Millwall's car.
I wonder how they'd look on a Moredoor.....

16" are the correct size for the e30.
Comfortable ride, plus they don't tramline either.
Alpina, Hartge and AC Snitzer all made them in this size for a reason for the E30's.
