I wash mine when I'm in the mood, and not before or after!
Whilst on the topic of cleaning...does anybody know what will stop fingermarks appearing on the black trim running vertically between the doors, please?
It does my head in!!

I use Meguiars Gold Class Trim Detailer. Its not really trim i.e plastic or rubber but it seems to come up well.sihooker wrote:

Like Dave, I'm a bit of a bufty.
-Hose car to remove all the loose dirt.
-Using the two bucket method, wash the body with autoglym bodywork conditioner.
-Rinse.
-Clean wheels with the autoglym shampoo aswell.
-Rinse.
-Dry the car with a meguiars towel.
-Clay bar the bodywork*
-Polish with Autoglym Super Resin*
-Wax with Autoglym high definition wax*
-Clean all glass with any old glass cleaner.
-Treat tyres with meguiars tyre gel.
-Treat all black plastic trim with meguiars trim detailer.
Every few months or so, remove the wheels, clay bar, polish and wax.
*= not every wash, just when I think the shine has deminished.

Been looking at this site, but have yet to order anything. Some nice products, although some are a little on the high side, especially as only do bargains
http://www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk/shop/v ... uct_id=167
The only downside of the site, is the shopping basket, that gets in the way on my PC.
Oh, and hardcore detailers might enjoy the wookie mitt ;)
I'm basically just trying to build up a basic detailing kit, nothing flash. So far, I have.........................a new mitt, my old t-cut colour restorer, a sponge (now obsolete due to the new mitt) and an ancient chamois!! lol

im about to go and wash mine in a minute, i will hose it down then wash it with a cheap halfords mitt and cheap halfords car shampoo(only one bucket for me).
wheels i will spray with some wheel cleaner stuff then rub the crap off with the mitt and rinse in the same bucket. then i will run over it witht he squeegee thing to dry.
and hey presto, my scratched to fuck paint is still looking shit. roll on the the matt brown respray.
