Strange oil smell

i got a strange oil/burning smell from the car the other week when i was driving and pulled over.. i assumed it was from outside and it dissapeared when i started driving and i forgot about it..

this last week the same thing has happened twice.. i only get it when i pull over and cant smell it outside the caror under the bonnet.

there are no oil leaks but the car burns about a litre of oil every 6 months or so,(is this bad )

no mayo under the cap or dipstick..

recent maintenence (2 weeks ago)

-oil change castrol gtx 10w 40
-oil/fuel filter
-power steering fluid and new rack
-new bosch 4 prong plugs

any ideas what the smell could be? i was also thinking that this has only happened since my heater fan motor has been playing up.. burning out?

will check when i get out in it, but i dont think so

checked and definatley not it.. but i get a worse smell when i turn the fan on and also there is a blow in my exhaust manifold.. what do you think? could it just be exhaust fumes?
