im after a stainless exhaust for my '90 325i and have been looking at a few places but a lot of them say they are 'cat-back' exhausts and mine is a 2 piece system without a cat.

Does anyone know a good place where i could get a reasonably priced, 2 piece, non-cat stainless exhaust for less than 300 quid?
Was thinking about having one made by Pipecraft or Powerflow but not sure if the quality will be there?

Powerflow systems are rubbish.
You'd be better off buying a genuine BMW system. OK, so they're not stainless, but they are known to last well over 10 years.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Powerflow can do whatever u want interms of style, sound etc.
Theres another place called Torque Exhausts in Brimsdown Enfield who do custom made pipes too.
Returned after many years out.

Scorpion is pretty loud apparently, might become a bit of a chore on long journeys.

check out topgear based near city airpot in london. they have a website too. i paied a unqiue dtm style for my back box customised for £250.00 abit pricey but i like it the noise is spot on not too loud and not too low just the way i want it low humming noise.

my scorpion is quite loud, although my car is fully stripped, and i think it would be bearable with an interior/sound proofing.

sounds amazing when you open it up too

My scorpion is quite mild when just pottering around and on tick over but give it the beans and its a different story.

On tick over it is no louder than the standard mild system i had on.

But bear in mind mine is in very good condition and the baffles are not empty and worn out

BMW center box with Scorpion rear box. I've heard this takes away the tinnyness.

I have a scorpion le mans style, round town nice and subtle unless you take revs round 3,500 then it wakes up. problem depending how sensitive you are too the rumble it will take it's toll on motorways as at about 70-80mph it's at the start of it's rumble range 3500 revs which can become tiresome. This is based on m20 325 with 3.91 diff.
Lower ratio diff will reduce revs which may help on motorways.
You can always turn up stereo on motorways!

Ive got a Scorpion twin exit on my 325i & it sounds perfect, not too low not too loud just right & when you open it up its sublime :)

Combine it with a decent induction kit & Manifold and your in sound heaven!
