on the m40, are there any tricks to remove the viscous fan coupling, the water pump just goes with it, i no that theres reverse thread, but any help would be great also can anyone tell me what size the oil filter removal tool is , cus i keep getting the wrong size. cheers

I cant help on the oil filter removal tool but for the viscous, make sure the drive belt is nice and tight and give the end of the spanner on the viscous nut a sharp crack with a hammer. I put a dab of grease on the threads when it went back on, it's self tightening so all that will do is make it easier to get off next time.

Oil filter removal tool? I've not needed any tools beyond a spanner to change mine...

He means to stop the pulley turning
Engine conversions, Auto to manual conversions, parts, servicing etc etc... For anything e30 call 07718 901737
