Hello guys,
I been a zoner for quite some time now, but i sold my E30 Cab about a year ago and got my self an Audi A3 1.8T - I kno i kno, i dont need all the jip. ;p
Basically i feel to get a Touring but dunno how much potential they have in terms of modifying them, can you put Sports kit on them? I havnt really seen many with kits, but have seen some nice lowered clean ones.
Also what is the insurance like on a 325 or 320?
Is there anyone on here with pics of theirs with sports kit, lowered and on nice wheels?

Random google image

the 320i is thirsty for the power if delivers, the 325i is the one to have, the 4 pots provide good shells for the 6 pots
If you dont have many no claims and under 21 you may have to stick with a 320i for now

Damnnnnnnn
There is potential
I pictured it right but werent sure how it would look, but it looks great.
That silver one in the first link is quality.
I would most probably go for a 325

do tourers with tech 2 kits suffer from rot?
just woundering
and tourers have the best potential of all. they all need tow bars as well .

Both the tourings in the other threads look incredible!
I want to go down the touring route as well, I'll be over the moon if I can get anything half as good as either of those mentioned above! I've had enough of my tired old 320i nowadays, and I'm fed up of dog hair flying round me as the dog has to sit in the back seat! Tourings are more practical, have better weight distribution, and can look equally as lovely as a saloon IMO.
Now I just need to find some cash....

LOL
Jus sell ur 320 mate and im sure u will be able to afford a touring. Theres one going on here for £600.
I feel for a touring too but then i had a cab and remembered all the little nigly problems i was having due to it being a 20 year old car. I did love it tho but i aint that much of a mechanic. But having something practical is the way to go.

problem with my 320 is that I don't think I'd be able to get feck all for it if I sold it. The tinworm has started to take hold in a few places, it's approaching 200k miles now, and it's a bit messy really - not the best example of an e30 but I still love it! And I quite enjoy working on it too, I'm no mechanic but I've learnt a lot over the years!
My original plan was to rebuild mine when it gets to 200k, but realistically, I'm not sure if it's worth it, and a tourer would be so much more practical.
My mrs is back to work next week after being unemployed for the last 6 months or so, so hopefully I'll be looking to buy something end of this year or early next. Can't wait........

If money is an issue then you could do what I did and instead of spending £K's on a 325i get a 320i touring for £300 and a 325 engine for £200 and convert it yourself. £500+ saved straight away.
Good thing is even the 320i Tourings come with the decent brakes and front struts from the 325i's

Beemer 325i Track car currently in production.
Audi S4 currently transporting me around.

Tourings are stunning an look as good as a nice saloon/coupe. No other estate car has matched the decent look of the E30 Touring.
Tech 2 kit, lowered, nice wheels and a good coat of shiney paint and thats all you need.
Once my projects done, I may adopt a nice touring if one finds its way to my hands

Uni is killing the project.
I'm probably going to go down the route that nobody_you_know has and find a 316, 318 or 320 touring that has the best possible bodywork, then just drop a 2.5 lump into it (or may finally get around to building my 2.7!).
Is it right that all tourings, even the 316, has disc brakes all round and the larger struts?

here's one of my touring during its 2nd engine chang

and this is one of it all in opne piece this was once a 320i but now its a 325i also with an m20b28 being built some time in the future

i no its not kitted but imo it dont need it and on this one there is no rot at all in any of the normall places you wouldnt belive it was 20 years old
