Hi all,
My petrol tank is leaking and needs replacing soon. I have found a possible replacement in a breakers yard. The model is a 1990 2 door saloon. The breaker suggests I check( before he removes it for me) as to whether or not it is compatable with the tank on the model I own. Anyone any information as to how I can establish this information?
Thanks.

i have one nearly new Ԛ£40

they all should be the same

all you have to do is pu your gubins into it from yours
the chance wih a second hand one is that once you remove it it will probably fall apart

As Richy said, they should all be the same.

I think the early ones are 55 litre tanks and the late ones are 63 litre tanks. Yours should be a 63L being an 1989 model.

If it was my car mate i would either buy new, I'm the origional tight git or at least buy richy's. These tanks can crumble(just ask the people who have tried to take it off to do 'That brakepipe')

Just speaking from past unpleasant fuel tank experiences :x

Richy
where's the cheapest place to get a new one? cheap is not always best i suppose especially when all the fittings have to be quite acurate. Anyone know what the stealers want for one?

I have been quoted Ԛ£140 + vat plus 2 hours labour fitting and vat again.
Linwar motors in Southport want about Ԛ£180 that's for one from a scrappy they will have broken up themselves.
