BTW, the engine in front of it that looks like it's being bullied/eaten/sh#gged is a Pinto lump - gives you an idea of how large these frikkin' engines are..!

...which is going in here...

So I'll need one of these then! :screwy:

Does anyone know for sure if the mounts will need to be fabricated of can off-the-shelf ones can be used, the E30 ones look close but won't know for sure until I start fitting the lump.

Using logic and all the research I've done I think you're right, as I was told that the M50 block is basically the same as an M20 block.

Sorry, they've gone, the local E30 'locusts' got wind of it and the car got stripped like a joint of beef in a piranha pond.

Lovely E21, I had a 323I with the twin pipes, I was gutted to find out it was a bucket of rust :(

This one's a bit of a cheat, it was a 320 that had a 323i engine and running gear put in. Other than a small amount of rust on the sills and bottom of the rear arches, it's 'cherry'. Spent over three hours checking it when I bought it...

E36 mounting arms are what you require, though if the thing has already been running in an E30 you will have less problems than most.
Easiest way to fit engine/'box is to lift the rear of the car, makes the 'dangle angle' much more managable.
Youth is wasted on the young.
