Hi Guys

Im my car - i have a equailzer cut into the centre console (near ashtray).

As my stereo already has a better system the the EQ - So.... i was thinking of putting some gauges into the centre console to cover the gap.

What do you guy recommend, and how would i wire up?

I was thinking Battery - easy to wire up :o) oil temp and oil pressure!

Anything else?

Also - does anyone know of any gauges with the background light similar to the e30's?

Thanks

The Audi Coupes had a three dial set-up in the centre console. I think someone has done this mod before on an E30... and they had a special mounting plate made which you might be able to get hold of...

Someone else has done this, so they might see this and help you out...

Buster has three dials down there... PM him and ask him about them...

Giles.

If you want to match the stock instrumentation go with VDO Vision series.

They are a matte black face with white letters, and light up green/amber.

thats why i used the audi dials as they are VDO,light up red and have red needles with white numbers ,same as my instrument cluster.I used the standard audi mounting plate and wiring but adapted the wiring to suit.

look factory in my opinion.

I fitted a Mocal capillary type combined oil temp and pressure guage mounted in a pod on the dashboard where i can see it.
I had a threaded boss welded into the sump for the temp sender bulb and used a 'T' piece adaptor for the pressure.
Invaluable piece of kit. You notice how much longer it takes the oil to get to working temp compared to the coolant.
