Right, I'll probably need to replace the front pads on the Alpina in the next few months. It has the larger Alpina brake upgrade.

However, I presume Alpina would charge a left nad for the privilege of selling me a set (if they're still available?) but I've read a few times elsewhere that the Merc 2.3 16 190E cosworth / W124 300D pads fit - but with 2mm shaved off.

Has anyone else got any other info on this?

Ta.

Are they really 296mm diameter? I thought they were more like 280, if its the merc callipers and carriers that are used then the pads should slot straight in

the calipers are W124 300E/190E cosworth. Not 300D!

Pagid, ferrodo seem to be the main companys for them. I've got a set of pagid road pads, and ferrodo DS2500 for track work on my setup.

No shaving required they fit straight on out the box

That's great Simon, thanks for the advice, I thought it was weird that the diesel would have the same calipers / pads as the 190E cosworth alright!

Where did you happen to buy your pads? Do you have a rough price?

Thanks again :D

correct you need the custom caliper carrier. As its a girling setup its a cast job like the calipers so looks factory. Not something which could be replicated easily, i've looked into that in the past
