Am looking for someone to inspire me! Its getting close to the time where I need to buy wheels for my project car. I am very fussy about the type of wheels I have on the car - so theres not a hope of anything from Azev, Borbet, or anything euro styled etc getting near it.

The current favourite is the OEM 15 inch BBS crosspokes, closely followed by OEM 16 inch Alpinas. Common sense and good taste is dictating that I shouldn't consider anything other than the 15 inch BBS!

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a wheel I might not have considered? With a photo of course (preferably on a Henna Red tec 1 :D)

You need to inspire us with some pictures of the car...

This is what I always wanted to do, but never found the wheels.

Basically you use your standard 15"bbs up front and try and obtain 2 'deeper dish bbs' for the rear. They are not made by BBS, and I have forgotton the manufacturer, but they look nigh on identicle. The only difference is they have a dish of about 1 and a 1/2" and would be quite subtle I think.

An idea anyway.

Any standard 16" wheels from the E30s? Hartge/Mims, Alpina's, AC Schnitzers? Etc.

There are a couple of BBS copies and similar alloys available like Ronals etc. 15" and 16" are your best bet in size.

If you could be bothered with a 5 lug conversion, the 16" M3 BBS are very nice :)
Does anyone have a picture of them on a normal E30?

Sorry, but they're hideous!

16 inch M3 BBS from an M3 did cross my mind - but its alot of extra expense. If my numbers come up in the lottery it'd be teh way I'd go!

Are you living in the UK?

It's probably not worth shipping them over to you if you are. Looking for €500 for them. They have not had tyres fitted to them yet.

it depends on your budget.

Alpinas are nice, but generally they are copies. Hartge are rare in 16inch and nice good. the MIM's are not my cup of tea, some examples of mine are 16inch BBS, 16 inch schnitzers, and 16 inch JW's (they are a Japanese BBs copy) and on the tech 1 sport are 16inch MK's

My favorites are the Schitzers by far..

enjoy...

well from the sounds of things you do want your e30 to look like every other one out there so there should be plenty of pics of them with bbs' or alpinas on from google...

how have you not considered bbs rs or ronal ls? i think we can see how much thought youve put into this...

I'd rather it not look like a chav mobile, so if that means its similar to other cars that are out there then so be it.

Really not sure what to make of your last 'thought' comment.

My favourite wheels on e30s are the 16" Hartge one-piece ones - not too showy, and they really complement the shape IMO. I also like the Schnitzer 5 spokes, as on lee's cabby above. Both would be a bit of a mission to source though. 15" Mims are nice, especially on chromies. What are the Ronal basket weave ones called? V. similar to stock BBS but in 16", though usually in a 'diamond cut and lacquered' finish?
