andy335touring has a modded 535i engine in his car and might be able to help.

however it's not a very tuneable engine, you won't see much more than 250bhp without forced induction and whatever you do will cost big money.

if you don't think the m30 will be enough power before you've even installed it then why aren't you putting an m-power engine in instead? the m30 is a lot of power for little money but if you want to tune it then it'll cost you more in the long run.

Have you ever driven a 335i conversion? If so would you say it was powerful enough or needs a turbo, or as you say some mpower?

You should be fine with a standard E34 M30 3.5ltr with a chip, drop it in and see.

You can allways drop in a cam and/or head work at a later date, but its not cheap !

Where are you based Tim ? May be you can pop over for a ride ?

There's some pics on the following link.

And here's a more up to date one

well your in the right place1 south africa is the home of the m30 conversion. Bmw south africa (with help from alpina parts) actually did this conversion.

By the way has anybody got any online pics of the Chrome/ red 333i with low mileage that ws in total or one of the other bmw mags a few years ago?
