So, anyone with a Z3/e36 rack able to take their car up to BTB (Daventry, near Banbury) to let Joe have a look? We won't be able to make any progress on the BTB3 otherwise.

There probably are 5 people for the standard M20 manifold, however if people are prepared to wait 2 or 3 weeks, we can get BTB to design a manifold that fits both stock rack and e36/z3. Then we have more than 5, better prices for us potentially.Brunos_Bimmer wrote:has there already been 5 people who have got this deal as im very interested in the stainleel manifold for the M20??
I spoke with Joe again yesterday when I picked up my car (their full system is a work of art by the way), and I had misunderstood slightly ref. the rack modification. Simply seeing a car with the modified rack is not enough, Joe would need to keep the car for a week or so and physically build the first manifold for the first customer.
So, any of those wanting the manifold with the modified rack prepared to buy the first one from Joe (at Group Buy price, naturally), plus leave their car with him for a week or so while he makes the first one and builds the jig for subsequent?

what does the volunteer need to do?
As above really. Drop their car down to Joe at BTB for a week for Joe to make the first manifold. This car needs to have an E36 or Z3 steering rack.Brunos_Bimmer wrote:what does the volunteer need to do?
I think if I already had my rack, lived in the UK and had could get a lift there and back, i would do this for a "BTB3 - number 1" stamp on the manifold

But I dont

Hmmm, "BTB3-one" would be pretty cool alright
Sorry, I didn't get back to you yet on the Z3 rack... was just kinda up the walls the last few days
Will send you a pm soon on it

M42 rightness above 6500rpm, nobody can hear you scream
I would be tempted by the BTB2 (or whichever), depending on lead time.

Bought: Obtain in exchange for payment. Brought: Come to a place with (someone or something).
These words are NOT interchangable....!

I really cannot see BTB offering an even bigger reduction of the already fairly decent group buy rate. Essentially, they are saying they will fit the system for free for you rather than posting it to you for your own installation.phil540uk wrote:Would there be a special price for the BTB3 volunteer?
If so, I would probably be ok to do it.

Martin, do you not have an E36 rack or anything? They can be fitted to a car in no time at all!
Grab a cheap rack off somebody and then fit it. Or anyone willing to do so could do it...
anyway... I'm not really in any position to be impatient... Just spent all my moneys on parts so will have to hold some more money again after pay day

As my own rack is leaking, I would love to say yes. Alas, my car is M30'd, plus I've just spent £2k on BTB's full system for it and altering the 6-branch now is a non starter.NayC wrote:Martin, do you not have an E36 rack or anything? They can be fitted to a car in no time at all!

Can't justify spending that much on a manifold when the car cost me less than that!!

Yep, this is still on.mattyb wrote:we still doin the btb2 manifold if we can get the five or more
Unless someone can volunteer a BTB3 protoype car in the next few days, I think it will be best to abandon the BTB3 idea and just go with the already designed BTB2.
I already have my BTB system bought and fitted in my M30'd car, so no issue either way for me.

Would anyone borrow a rack of someone and then be our test dummy. As I said, I'd do it, if I didn't live on this sodding rock!Dave_M3 wrote:I'll send my spare Z3 rack and a fitting kit to BTB if they give it back to me with a BTB3 and a Sport attached to it

EDIT: How much does the steering column intrude into the space of the BTB manifold? A few mm's, cm's, inches? I've heard its not too much and surely someone who has the two on the zone (or tried the fitting) could give us an idea? Joe @ BTB may only have to rearrange a pipe or two by a small amount?

I'm not interested in either a BTB2 or a BTB3. I will buy one.... No F**king about. I have the cash waiting.
As Dave has said, I'm planning an e46 330Ci Clubsport rack for mine. So a BTB3 would be my preference.
If this goes ahead COUNT ME IN. I'LL DEFINITELY TAKE ONE!

Anyone who knows of an S50 B32/B30 E30 for sale, please let me know.
Have fun trying to fit that around a BTB. The point in this thread is a lot of people would want a BTB'3' as it would solve our problems, but we need a volunteer, but things are slowing down now that we cant get one.da4x4turbo wrote:I'm not interested in either a BTB2 or a BTB3. A normal BTB2 group buy may go through.
