E34 5 series.

Stumbled across an E34 5 series. 535i in Calypso Red with a grey leather interior. 57k miles. Drives nicely. Really nice car. Bit worn but the guy is a really honest sounding old lad who told me about the 2 tiny bits of rust, door locking electrical problems and the air-con needs to be "re-gassed"?

Asking £900 but could probably get him a fair bit lower as it has been sitting there for nearly a month with no interest in it.

What do people reckon about these cars?

Any tips people know of for buying them? What are they like to run and fix? Cost of parts and so on?

If that 57k is genuine its not even run in yet ! - make a good E30 engine donor even if you don't want the rest of the car

Great solid reliable cars, the handling is a surprise in a good way for the size of them, well on the Sports anyway.

Check the usual like mayo in the cap, but if not been on long journeys this can show anyway on them, shimmy at 55mph is the control arms, easy enough job to do. Pretty good in the rust stakes too, my old Sport was a coastal car all its days and was a1 nick.

57k in jersey is going to be genuine. But he has taken it to france recently and done trips around europe in it before.

Seems pretty solid and he was very genuine in about all the faults with the car.

its definately a grown up E30 to drive. Really nice run around.

engine doner my e34 is ok but its just not an e30 so buy it use it till your bored then frag it
