Hello,
Does anyone know the amount of force applied on the piston on a master cylinder when a hydraulic handbrake is fully engaged? Preferably in Newtons.
Also, what is the usual of stroke master cylinders if anyone knows?

Sorry, but sounds like one of those 'how long is a piece of string' type questions to me.
Depends on how hard you pull, how long the lever is, what is the mechanical advantage over the cylinder push rod, etc etc.

Would be quite easy to work out a force is you have the variables; Master cylinder diameter, force applied to lever, lever ratio etc, then you'd have the output force of the master cylinder 
Simple really, you can then apply that to brake calipers, brake pads and disc combinations, and eventually work out how long it would take to slow or stop a certain mass.
Of course, without knowing what handbrake lever you have, what size master cylinder etc it's nigh on impossible

yea, I haven't got a handbrake yet, I was just playing with some ideas - but I have a rough idea now, cheers for the help.
