(Not so) Brilliant Red Paintwork

It is undoubtedly a question that has arisen before but...

I have recently cut back, polished and waxed my car. As you can see from this thread the results are unquestionable:

However, I got home last night to find that where the car had been rained on and the sun then shone on it the paint was starting to turn back to pink. This is extremely frustrating as I spent a good four days reviving it.

I have cut it back using Menzerna Power Gloss, applied one coat of Autoglym Super Resin Polish, one coat of Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine...and finally three coats of Malco's Imperial Carnauba Wax!

Unbelievably annoying!

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

the only way you can get it to stay red without always polishing etc would be a respray

I'm fine with polishing the car, just not every day! I'm looking into speaking to my bodyshop to see if there's any way they can simply add me a layer of lacquer after my paint has been cut back...

i dont think you can just add laquer think you need to respray it all over, i remember someone else asking if you could

you could always just polish it and pile on lots of wax???? waxing it a few times ??

I tried with three layers of wax after two layers of polish last week and within two days it was banjacked again!

Just cannot afford a respray right now (or any time in the next three years!)...

Do you think if I leave it long enough I could pass it off as White?

wax does,nt offer uv protection, try something like jetseal or zaino
and wash your car with a weak shampoo solution not cheap shite just not strong. hth

You can't layer polish. Polish only abrades the paint surface in preparation for some kind of protection, as above my recomendation would be Zaino Z3, it's designed to go on non clear coated cars and contains UV protection, this will help stop your paint turning pink again, ideally you should use the Z3 with ZFX, you can then put up to 3 layers per day on the car, use Zaino Z7 to wash the car and top up with another coat of Z3 every couple of months, It'll probably set you back about £50 all up but it will last forever with just you using it. Well worth the investment.

Thanks for the advice, looks like I'll have to grab myself some of the Zaino kit.
