I'm going to see 325 Motorsport Edition tomorrow, I seen some pics of it and it look real sweet - though the guy I'm seeing says he reckons it needs a full re-spray! I think, like myself, he is very much a perfectionist and wants to see the car looking a good a possible before he sells it.
He said he gonna take me to the paint shop tomorrow, to see the outfit and will sort all the work for me as I dont live that close to him - I'd just pay for it. And that's what I wanted to ask you guys about; its costing Ԛ£1500 for the re-spray [he said they will take all the bumpers off etc and use sometime called standox paint - make sense?]
The car got the lowest miles I seen, and the re-spray will still keep it within my budget [just]...what do you reckon?
Re-spray?

If you don't think it's absolutely necessary for a respray then why bother if it's your money? Just buy the car as it is.

Yeah, that's what I'm gonna decide tomorrow. It looks good in the emailed pics [just a little dent in the boot and some marks on the rear bumper], but digital pics dont always tell the whole story.
Still, a re-sprayed car would be mint!!

That would definetly worry me frosted. Though I'd just have to trust the guy who selling the car, as he has sourced the paint-shop and says they are the real deal. I'm probley going to see the paint-shop too tomorrow, so I'll have to have a spy! Would there be such a thing as a warranty on their work?

Bug,
This all sounds a bit too dodgy for my liking and would give it a swerve. why would he want you to get the car painted at that particular shop??? It all sounds a bit sus to me. Buy the mota but get it sprayed at your own convenience, not when he wants to get it done, really doesn't sound right to me.

plus from a money point of view. why does he want to get teh car sprayed before you buy it? unless hes got a "mate" who will do it cheap and it will whack up the value of the car so he makes more Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£
as other say. but it for what its worth in its current condition.

What it was Daryll, was he wanted to get the car re-sprayed before he sold it for 2 reasons; 1 cos he wanted to blow people's socks off when they came to see it. And 2, cos he said he has always wanted to re-store it to top condition [but has had no time] since he bought it.
He said he has turned a bunch of people away who wanted to come see it in its present state cos he wanted to complete the work. Dont know how true that is?
So of course I could buy it as is...but I don't know a good paint shops, so if this guy has done the donkey work [cos he has called a number of paint shops and was most impressed by the people we going to see tomorrow], then why not get it done through them? If I think i needs it of course?
I got Andrew for WLN Automotive coming down from Blackpool to vet the car too...as people on the Zone been telling me he knows his stuff? I been up to WLN and the guy definetly a car nut - I was well impressed.

It must be a right state if he wants it resprayed before you buy it.
There's something very fishy going on, I'd avoid the car at all costs. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
There's always another one.
