as above... shes gone to get sorted out!! the m50 inlet swap will be performed... i havent seen one in the flesh.. it really is allot bigger than the weedy b28's... i was shocked. it would appear that the wire hanging near my anti roll bar is a lambada sensor thing... i await his report of his findings... i hope the results will sway me to keep it a bit longer.. we will see.. as i pick her up sunday...

hope she gets sorted out mate and feels like she should. Might lose a bit of low end grunt as a sacrifice for top end power

***update*** spoke to spencer earlier... all lambada sensors are good.. the burbleing when i come off of the throttle could possibly be due to the car being chipped... unburnt fuel.. the radiator could possibly have a leak( top and bottom bungs ?? ) this could contribute to the lack of pressure in the cooling system.. jusdging by the compression test cylinders 3 and 4 were down.. head gasket?? who knows?? the scorpion back box is off! a genuine good condition second hand one is on.. the b28 inlet is in the bin... the b25 is being fitted as i type... the mafs was fucked... another has been fitted... i await more of his findings... he did comment that the car was quick for a 328... is it chipped?? who knows... all i know is it should be a hell of allot better when it comes back... so if the head has to come off i will get it pressure tested and rebuilt to make sure its a gooden.. more expense... i miss MY e30.

another update.... manifold is fitted... the timing was slightly out!! that has been adjusted... he said that in 1st and second gear its nearly as quick as an m3.. he took it down the road and lit the wheels up changing from 1st to 2nd
something that i couldnt do before... no when you get into third its dead.. 4th dead, 5th dead... hes pretty sure the cat is fubared... he has a full system sitting there... its going on.... so fingers crossed hey!!!! can anyone who is reading this just cross their fingers????? just once??? i need a little luck here.... oh and the two outer balljoints on the front are @ucked... the search continues... it will be right in the end!!

sounds like the e36 is giving you some right greif at the minute they do eat ball joints though one mod was to fit e30 arms on the e36 because they last longer

So its soon showdown time !
M52B28 with M50 fannymould VS M20B28 with hot cam and so goodies.
Should be close guys, '36 has the edge on midrange TQ on paper, but has a weight penalty, and the moredoor is packing around the same outright HP.
Place your bets please

the fun begins at 3.5k.... it pulls hard to the red line.... a little torque is lost down the rev range.. the remap should sort that... im happy with it... its fast... its amazing what a shagged cat can do to a car... the race is on if you want it chris... i would walk away if i were you lol!!

hi mike... did you get my voicemail i left?? yeah its sorted... but the engine needs a flush.. as the hydraulic tappets are making soem noise it still has a tiny miss, spencer said this is proberbly due to the tar in the head causing them not to close properly, he also said it was the dirtyest engine inside he has ever seen inside!!!!!!!!!! so im going to ring bmw up and ask what they use... i will have it in for three days then change the oil... mobil 1, then change it again after 1000 miles... im glad that scorpion exhaust is off.. it now has a standard one fitted with polished pipes(slip on i think)RM2186 wrote:Phew! Glad it's all sorted Tim. Gill still hasn't forgiven me yet!
its been quite some battle to get it running properly... but its getting there now... remap next... then suspension.

i had a nice drive back from work this morning, i clock out at 6am ... the air had a slight chill to it as i ran out of work after clocking out... run i hear you say?? i had a very good reason to... my objective was to get home... and get home fast(in the safest possible manor and obeying the speed limits
) ... the journery is 5 miles... plagued with traffic lights and speed cameras
a little ginger lad named tom had his 200cc moped... so i pull off the car park, GT as i like to call him was behind me, i approach the first roundabout and i was on the inside lane stuck behind some vauxhall p.o.s, young GT goes in the left hand lane round the roundabout getting the edge on me... i knew the clock was ticking... so i too choose the left lane, dropping the proverbial hammer in second... the response was impressive, the ass twitched as i corrected the dirty six and guided it to the appropriate lane... GT thought he had me... into third on the limiter.. the torque kicks in and before i know it im up his ass, i pull into the right lane and give it fourth... im gone...
to cut a long story short.. i get stuck(more like wedged) between two cars for a good couple of minutes, i suppose me shouting GET OUT OF MY @UCKING WAY ( like a true bmw owner ) didnt help matters...
i meet another colligue in his new vauxhall insignia.... i dont know why he even tried... after breaking for speed cameras, getting stuck behind people and what not... i arrived home at......

the car performed better than it ever had!! obviously due to the cool air.. i expect better when its mapped... its rapid as it is! i think if i had a clear run.. i could get it down to sub 10mins!!
i would just like to add... my driving was responsible and i kept within all the speed limits (sort of)
