Picked up my 320i after the engine swap last Wednesday and it's faster than I ever imagined - I might just leave it as an Eta as I love the way it delivers huge torque from idling speed. It's stupendously fast!
One thing worrying me is that the cooling system seems to hold pressure for a long time, even after it has had a few hours to cool down.
It's had a new water pump and thermostat and warms up and holds the correct temp, the heater blows warm air.
I've bled the system but this morning I drove to work. I went to check it a couple of hours later and the pipes were still rock hard.
I slowly undid the cap and it expelled some air but then wanted to force coolant out - Is this normal????

Sounds like you may have an air lock or the expansion tank cap is not working correctly. It does allow some high pressures to escape when hot.
