I saw a thread a few days ago where someone posted up when the Silverstone coverage was on Motors TV, but now I cant find it :x

I remembered to set the Sky+ though and have just watched it. Looks like a great race series, although the coverage was way too short and only showed the first race (and not all of it either) and the commentator called the cars E21s

Still was great to watch

Does the series get regular coverage on Motors TV?

no it doesnt mate,unfortunatley.
Hopefully we can have more of the same next year, the commentator is normally very good with no mistakes , must of been a script error.
Shame i ended up in the gravel after 3 laps :x

What a shame, if it was on the box more it would help to raise the profile of this excellent and competitive series, and imho, would help drivers to gain sponsorship!

Just a cost issue really. There is a cost to drivers/organisers to televise stuff. Reality is that most drivers sponsors are either family friends with businesses, or their own businesses, so difficult to quantify any real advantage for the cost of TV. Also most coverage goes to the top few drivers so again very little advantage to the other thirty-odd drivers racing. However JimmyC is hard at work chasing a major series title sponsor so plans are afoot and things may change for next season. I'm happy as I qualified really pants (bad fuel starvation) so luckily enough was able to overtake a few cars during the race and got a couple of mentions, most drivers outside the top five didn't.
For sale - E30 320i racer project - sold.

Never say never, its high on my lists of what I want to achieve for the series in 2010, but accept it may take longer.

Sponsorship talks are already in progress for next year though :)

Sounds promising, I wish i could attract some sort of sponsorship as i have finaly found a suitably cheap 3 door in reasonable nick. :P I will be building her slowly but surely over the summer. Budget is tight, so my mate and me will be doing 95% of the work and gonna try and source a lot of the bits second hand (will put a wish list on here and or Seloc forum soon). Gonna do a build thread on here too!

Thats a shame. Was really good to see, about 40 cars IIRC with quite a few reserves, so should make for some great racing to be watched. I doubt theres many 'high profile' race series that can boast a 40 car grid.

So they were your yellow flags :x

Only kidding, that must be such a git having put all the hard work in to get out there - Ive done a couple short oval races and ended up parked up in the middle (or the wall  ) after a few laps - not all my fault obviously :o: .

I noticed that (didnt know it was you though), and the fact it was only the top few drivers getting the mentions, but I guess that happens if you watch the BTCC for instance.

Hopefully things might be on the change then 8)
As has already been said, more TV coverage can only be a good thing to help bring in more interest from both sponsors and the paying public.
