Hi everyone ive owned this 325 sport mtech1 for about 3 months and i am trying to get some history on it has it doesnt have any!I swaped her for my old 300zx twin turbo in january somewere down south :? The reason im curious is because a month ago i had it up forsale on pistonheads due to picking up a 9 month ban and a previous owner emailed me saying he bought it around 2003 fresh out of 10 years strorage in a barn! he then went on to tell me after storage it had the usual things done to get it back on the road then was dynoed at 192bhp and the only thing he said was done that he knew of was a chip done in 1989 :?
So what i want to know is has anyone reading this either owned this car or knows of its history etc.The original plates on it were from a bmw dealer in bath. O and the car is in stunning condition it realy is solid as a rock and not rotten in anyway hence my curiousity!! shes done 147000 and after talking to bmw never once after been sold has it back to them for servicing etc not even its first service!

Have you but the VIN into realoem.com?

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do

This will give you the manufacturing date and spec as well as proving its genuine.

Hi yeah ive checked the vin against that in the past and with bmw and they said its a 325i sport, it also says 325i sport on the logbook so its pedigree isnt in question 8) it is just strange for a car that cost 17k in 1987 to never go back to the main dealers!! Im just hoping someone knows a bit about it because it goes like a rocket and i suspect it has more than just a chip+exhaust fitted and its obviously been well looked after. Its got a bmw gb owners club sticker on the rear quarter window so it has probably been registered on there at some point.
As for the caravan its a bloody eye sore :P

Another tech2 spoiler on a tech 1!!

Oh and if it's a BMWCC sticker in the window then maybe try contacting the club for some info on the car.

My old Tech 1 was not sold(new) until the facelifts were on the forecourt so had the Tech 2 boot spoiler added to assist its sale.

I guess its common, I was going to swop back but never did in the end.

Write to the DVLA for £5 they will send you a copy of all the previous V5's so you can try and track the previous owners. :D

Can't find the link to the correct page on the DVLA site, will look again later.

I used to run the E30 register database, but I'm sure Neil has a more up to date copy now.

All I can say is, the car isn't on the old copy of the register I have, but it is a couple of years out of date. Also just because the car has a BMWCC sticker, doesn't mean the owner listed the car on any of the registers.
