I have just bought myself a supposed c2 2.7 4 door (in NZ).

I have been emailing Sytners, and after weeks of trying, i got a reply asking for (things i can readily produce) plus $160 (58 of your ones)

Stuff that, ill just keep telling myself that its real- it has:

Alpina headers, suspension, chip, wheels(staggered 16's) badges, side skirts (no idea of make, commonly seen on sytner c2's) steering wheel, plaque, gearknob, and the lsd, sport seats etc etc.

$160 is just too much for me to pay to simply get a back- of mind thought rid of!

he even stamped up parts of the engines with his intials, not on mine
Simon,i could of sworn i saw the intials stamped on your engine! (but the memorys not as good as it used to be ! :D )
The two Sytner only conversions simon mentioned were called,

"Alpina Sport pack" Which was the cam, ecu and exhaust uprgrade to a standard B25 engine and was available for any 325. This was the same engine spec as the 325i based C2 2.5/C2.5.

The other one was called "Alpina 3" and consisted of alpina 16x7J alloys, front and rear spoilers, steering wheel and gear knob and Alpina Key fob.

Alpina's are minefeilds when trying to get a proper one. i was lucky to be able to ask Simon13 if he knew about the car which he did thankfully. Also people like Barry have made my life a lot easier when researching on the cars.

With regards to Sytner they now have a young lass who has been putting all the old job cards and specs onto a database so they are starting to get better at giving info.

When I have had to get bits for mine I have had to undergo and interigation at my local BMW dealers and give the VIN. Once it came up as legit they got the big parts catilog out and started hemering my creditcard!

Si they give me a hell of a time at North Oxford. Anything older than 18 months old and they look at you like scum in the parts department. One kid took a look at my car and told me it was fake as it didn't had an Alpina VIN on it like the new ones do!

Write to BMW and complain Dan, you shouldn't be treated like that.
It's a BMW, you want parts for it. Who cares how old it is? And if they reckon it's a fake, it show their ignorance.

Go for the 'upset' touch and tell em how hurt you are at being treated this way. They may bend your credit card slightly more gently next time... :thumb:
