dont get me wrong the car is ok... a friend of mine has just broke a m52b28.. and i still have a miss... so we are going to swap cam sensors and maf to see if that cures it... i look at the car as the calm before the storm... trust me when the time comes to sell ( and it is a @ucking clean car!! ) it will be running tip top... the engine has a tiny leak from the rocker cover gasket... the maf was disconnected when i bought it ( alarm bells should have rung ) so that will be the first port of call... the car is going to him friday, the scorpion exhaust is going back to standard too..325msport wrote:why do you want to change again???

My mate is selling a very tidy e36 m3 saloon, estoril blue, black leather, climate controll, contour alloys recent oil service Inc vanos bolts and filters, looking for £4200 which is very reasonable. If I had the spare cash and didn't already have 4 cars I'd be buying it myself.
cheers,
harry

Find out how much more the insurance is than a 328i. You might need to sit down.

i quite like the 4 doors, rarer and more surprise factor at the lights. plus they are cheaper and i wouldnt imagine 155k is too much trouble.e30bmlover wrote:sorry mate... more doors need not apply! she does look nice all the same! and toooooo many miles....
i'd be wary of the gearbox though, is that the same one as the v8's used? if so big bills to repair it when it goes.

I've had mine over 4 years and haven't regretted it once. Only problem with the servicing is finding someone to do the tappets. Treat it with respect when the engine's cold and change the VANOS filter at every oil change (around £7) and you'll not go wrong.
Here's mine at an E36coupe do in Sunderland last month

As someone said, the parts can be expensive - just paid £304 for a new water pump, including fitting VAT and coolant.

Id rather have a high mileage but well looked after car than a low mileage clocked / thashed one. On a 10+ year old car. Actual condition is far more important.
Can't help with the more door bit, I just think they're cool in an understated way. Would love a black non spoiler e36 m3 saloon

Oakey just gave the figure to give you an idea. THe cost of the car is irrelevant.
The quote is quite cheap, but then its limited to half of the mileage that I would normally go for and with a silly excess. Your £4k m3 suddenly is insured for the equivlent of £2617 before the insurance company won't pay out more than trade value, yarda yarda yar.

I was saying that e36M3s are expensive to insure

+1 The boy racers can afford to by a E36 M3. There also is a lot of E36 M3's for salvage.HairyScreech wrote:its the buyers there now in range of that will cause the insurance to soar now and soonish.
