Ive got a 325i manual e30, the only running problem im having is when you put your foot down, its very hesitant to rev up at any revs, after a few seconds it gets to the top of the revs but seems quite hesitant. Also, when cruising at a low speed at low revs in any gear the car seems to judder so you have to accelerate to stop the judder.

Ive replaced the plugs and leads recently and also checked all the rubber inlet pipes for cracks or split but they all seem fine, the tappets do need doing but has anybody got any ideas on what it could be?

How did you check the rubber hoses? It is hard to spot cracks visually.

It could be any one of a number of things. As Morat suggests it could be an air leak from a hose, it could also be down to fuelling... perhaps blue temperature sensor, or even the throttle position sensor could be playing up a bit (they get gunked up with oil)

These are simple to check and remedy.
