Just acquired my first touring :D

Will be picking it up early next week and cant wait to get started on it.
It does need abit of tlc but the first thing ill be doing is sorting out the surface rust , replacing the tailgate, fitting the is lip spoiler and tech 1 side skirts.I'll need to source a rear apron .

It will be sitting on 15" bbs when it arrives but i'll stick a set of staggered borbet a's on for the time being.

Then in the winter it will be getting the 1.6 swapped for a high comp 2.5

I'll not be going to town on it either as it will be used and the 4 door can go in the garage and only come out at the weekends. :D

Will look awesome on borbets!

Rust on the rear arch and sill looks a bit worrying though? Are you going to spray the whole rear panel when its done or blend it in?

The rear arch is being sorted out before i pick it up.The rust on the sill and the doors is just surface so i'll get it rubbed down, treated and painted.
I'll see how it matches then decide what to do next.
I'll get the replacement tailgate sprayed to and see how it looks.

I have thought about matt black but i'd rather try and get it looking right in the mugello rot.

After finding pics of munky's touring which is more or less styled the same as mines will be apart from the 9's on the front and mines will have tech 1 skirts, i'm really ttempted to go down the matt black route.

imo it looks

I'm sure i saw the above touring at the Dry Dock in Leicester the other week and although it is a very nice car i have to say the matt black dont look as good in the flesh as it does on those pics

Yeah thought it might be the case of looking better in the picture.
But still think i'll do it and see what happens.
I aint willing to spend ££££ getting it resprayed in the original colour so this might be my best option.

Doing it matt black and using cellulose paint.
It will be the first time i've sprayed a car but i'm hoping to get a good finish.
I practice on an old panel first before i hit the car

Thought i'd start prepping the the tailgate for painting while i'm waiting on the tourer to come.

I got the tailgate from a local scrappies and it looked to be in good condition.Thought i just had a couple of blisters to sort out and that was it.WRONG :(

It looked fine until i removed the numberplater surround and found more than blisters.

It saveable and is still in alot better nick than the one thats one the car but it will require a good few hours to get it ready to paint.

Looks fine barr a couple of blisters
Image

Bottom edge not too bad
Image

caught the bottom corners just in time me thinks

This was all hidden behind the numberplate surround :O
