hello, i know this has proberly been asked loads of times, but im new to the bmw scene so am not to clued up. I know a fair bit about engine tuning porting, lightening and balancing etc. But what tips do you have for getting a little more power out of my 316i for example swapping parts from a larger engined car. It has a larger bore exhaust system and soon to have a k&n pannel filter.

thanks chris :D

more realistically though... don't know if it's worth spending much on that engine it'll never make much power

it's not ridiculous

the normal to insure at the same rate as the car the engine came from i.e. insure it as a 535i

which ain't bad considering how much quicker it is than an e34

dnt they get funny with ya cos the engine was never standard fitted to an e30??

its the only real worry i have about the conversion
cnt see more than letting me change it over once the engine goes in  they went crazy last year when i swaooed cars 6times
guessing i,ll be better off approaching a more specialist insurer??

thats the 1gd point with the 2.7conv it dnt look so huge in the bay lol

ok thanks for the ideas, looks like ill be on the hunt for a larger engine then if i want to get loads of extra power. I think ill stick to the 1.6 for now though as i have got to get used to driving a rwd at speed.

thanks chris :D

I proberly would mate but ive had enough of swapping engines for the time being, thats all ive done with my fords for the last 4 years lol. Also i have to get rid of my rs turbo before i could even think of getting another car at home. Thanks for the offer anyway.
