depends where you are / what you do / if you've got any convictions too...

Mine'd be just over Ԛ£300 tpft on a 325i. I'm 23, but fair pretty well in all the other categories!

If you think you might be getting ripped off, just get some more quotes 8)

Hi,
You may find this interesting!!!!!
I am 22 with 2yrs NCB.
I live at a rural postcode in Yorkshire near Leeds.
I pay currently, only started in nov, Ԛ£605 with Churchill for 3rd Fire 'n' Theft.
I think this is very reasonable. I was paying Ԛ£570 on a Golf MK 2 1300cc the year before.
I'm on a 325i SE with no points and I'm a STUDENT!!!!!!!!!! This is important as we are the highest risk group of driver after mental patients  apperently.
They dont like that!!!
To the point is as a student it costs the same to insure a 318 as a 320 and only marginally more (Ԛ£45) to drive a 325i ( well worth it!!!) because the risk was me being a student tit ( which I can't deny), and before you all start I do have a job to support my student life and don't steal tax payers money.
Any way some of my friends cant insure a SAXO let alone a BMW 325i SE!!! It all depends on the postcode (and age, points, car, occupation etc...)
You should be able to get a better quote than that.
BEWARE of classic policies I had one for my first year driving an Old mini ( lots of fun and cheap just sh*t on the motorway) you will not earn claims free unless they are an exceptional INS company.

Shop around is my advice and fight two companies off against each other, Lie if you have to, it's their fault if they charge you too little for the risk!!!!! They do make mistakes HA HA !!

I thought that about being a student too... until I compared it to a quote I got for when I graduate & it didn't make any difference! But then insurance *never* makes any sense.

I pay around Ԛ£900 to insure an M3- I am 25 (was 24 when policy started) and have 3 years no claims after losing two years writing off my old E36 328i  .

A lot of it comes down to the postcode though I guess, plus I have an alarm, immobiliser, and a Tracker on my car as well as a garage for it to live in.

Alright mate,

I'm 27 and my 325 sport is insured for Ԛ£7k! My insurance is Ԛ£245 full comp!! Try the www.autotrader.co.uk website and click on the insurance link. They search loads of sites on your behalf and give you each quote theat they get. Ittakes seconds. My best other quote was Ԛ£500+.

Give it a try!

I'm 25 and pay Ԛ£350 FC for a modified 325i track car. Its on a classic policy so doesn't need any no claims either. Its with Herts Insurance Consultants so I'd give them a try...

Cheers,
Bryn.

Im 28 with full NCB, I've just had my renewal through with Privilege for Ԛ£409 on a '92 325i Sport fully comp including protected no claims. I've had a bit of a look round and no-one else I've tried comes close.

I used to be with More Than, who were very cheap (Group 15 Saab 900 Turbo for Ԛ£360) but when i changed to my 325 sport (group 16) they wouldn't cover me at all because its a group 16 and I'm under 30. If you've got a 325i or SE give them a try, but sports need to be 30+

Word of advice, if you work in the motor trade, try to avoid telling them(but don't actually lie) What I mean is try to tell them what your actual job is, eg. sales without saying motor trade.

They load up your premium if you're in the trade and you also lose the third party any car cover, which can occasionally be very handy.

Ԛ£450-ish with Sainsbury's FC for a 28 yr old on a 325i touring in London, 5yrs NCB, 1 claim last year and 3 points.

it was Ԛ£500, but added the missus for a Ԛ£50 discount.

Online the excess was Ԛ£500! Phone them up and got the excess down to Ԛ£150 and the premium as above.

been quoted Ԛ£570 for a 320i touring 3pft, no no claims! that was elephant.co.uk

i'm in glasgow 23 and had a smash  (tunes too loud) in november!

funnily enough, they quoted me exactly the same for a 525i-do I have some tough decisions to make  ?

mind you, a 320 touring would be ideal-probably slow enough so I dont kill myself (sideways in the wet on a single track road is touch hairy in a 525i) yet also music to the ears and a rear wheel drive machine.

what would you guys choose-*sensing the answer*

a 325i would be lovely, but finding one that aint been humped is hard-esp when u can get a 320 touring with 89k on the clock (full bmwsh) for Ԛ£300

any ideas?!

Ԛ£350 fully comp, 33 year old, limited milage 325i touring. In fact it was more expensive than the TVR S1 that I ran for three years.
